We are looking for a Junior Product Designer (UI/UX) to join one of our multidisciplinary squads and take ownership of the end-to-end design process for one of our apps and related back-office functions.

SOCAR aims to change the way people in South East Asia move around by becoming the biggest car-sharing platform in South East Asia. We are currently the biggest player in Malaysia and aim to scale out our product offering across more verticals and geographies.

What will you be engaged in?
As our Junior Product Designer (UX/UI) you will be the user-centric, creative head for the developments of the Growth team’s upcoming products and projects. You will be responsible for designing a state-of-the-art application user interface while at the same time ensuring a seamless user journey.

  • Produce high-quality user interface and experience design that solves user and business problems with various UX design methods (user flows, wireframes, mockups, quick prototypes, etc.)
  • Work cross-functionally with Product & Engineering partners and understand the impact of your design decisions and communicate effectively to achieve the best possible outcome.
  • Planning and conducting user research (user interviews, usability tests, etc.)
  • Set design requirements based on the information from internal teams and user research
  • Writing simple content to support your design idea/solutions.
  • Articulating design proposals with product teams and stakeholders.
  • Provides input to qualitative and quantitative user experience data gathering efforts including working with the data and technical stakeholders to ensure that KPIs of user experience are readily captured.
  • Experience in using digital design tools such as Figma, Sketch, etc.

    • Possesses at least 1 year of experience in UX/UI/Product design role
    • A talented designer with a focus on UX and UI design and comfortable working closely with developers.
    • Love to be the bridge between engineering and analysis to have an impact on the product
    • Have your head in the clouds while your feet are on the ground. You love thinking big, and at the same time, you know when to apply pixel-perfect attention to details
    • Possess communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. Also instrumental is the ability to speak confidently to your own design work and convince others of your reasoning
    • Have a people-focused design mentality and want to design and build products/features that truly have a meaningful impact
    • Comfortable independently leading complete design projects of high complexity
    • Have an online portfolio or PDF that you can share with us. Applications without a portfolio are unlikely to be considered.
    • Interested in optimizing workflows and maintaining backend systems
    • Appreciate agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.
    • Understand that product value is a function of usefulness and not technical implementation details.
